Goodwood Revival

The Goodwood Revival is a three-day festival held annually in September at the Goodwood Circuit near Chichester in West Sussex, England. It celebrates the heyday of the circuit, from its opening in 1948 through its closure in 1966, with attendees and participants dressing in period-appropriate attire to create a thoroughly immersive historical atmosphere.

Unlike modern racing events, the Goodwood Revival focuses exclusively on race cars and motorcycles that would have competed during the circuit’s original period of operation. This dedication to authenticity extends beyond the vehicles to the entire event, with spectators and participants encouraged to wear vintage clothing, effectively turning the event into a massive, interactive celebration of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s.

The Revival features a wide array of races, including:

• Historic Racing Cars from the 1950s and 1960s Grand Prix and sports cars to pre-war titans.
• Classic Motorcycles, particularly those from the immediate post-war years.
• Sports Cars, including GT vehicles and endurance racing icons from the era.

In addition to the on-track action, the event includes air shows featuring vintage aircraft, making the Revival a comprehensive homage to the era. The Revival also sees the recreation of period paddocks, shops, and other facilities, further enhancing the nostalgic experience.
