Explore Aberdeen Beaches and Coastline

Aberdeen is in Scotland within Aberdeenshire. This city lies at the ocean's edge at the mouth of the river Don. There is a stunning long sandy beach with high sand dunes running far up the coast to Fraserburgh. The dramatic coast here is popular with rock climbers and hikers as well as sun seeking holiday makers. There are over 220,000 inhabitants benefiting from the economic boom the city has enjoyed in recent decades which justifies that it's ranked one of the top places to shop! The use of granite in architecture has dubbed it the 'Granite City' or 'Silver City' and you can see the mica glinting in the light. Parks and gardens abound as do the awards bestowed on the floral displays in the city from Duthie Park, Hazlehead Park and Johnston gardens.
