Explore Llyn Peninsul (Gwynedd) Coast and Beaches

The Llyn Peninsula extends 50 km (30 miles) into the Irish Sea from north west Wales, and is south west of the Isle of Anglesey. Llyn covers an area of about 400 km2 (150 sq miles) of which The Llyn Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) covers just under half. The Llŷn Coastal Path is 146 km (84 miles) long, extending from Caernarfon along the north Llŷn coast to Uwchmynydd and then along the southern coast to Porthmadog. Large stretches of the northern Llyn coast consist of cliffs with stacks and offshore islands, while the southern coast has more sandy beaches.
