Porthmadog is a small seaside town in Gwynedd, Wales. famous for it's export of slate from the local mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Porthmadog is the terminus of a 22km long narrow-gauge Ffestiniog Railway, and runs from Porthmadog harbour to the slate-mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

This is also an ideal position to stay on the coast but also have easy access to the Snowdonia National Park.

Porthmadog sits down the estuary of the Afon Glaslyn where it runs into Tremadog Bay, but you have easy access to nearby beaches like Black Rock Sands or Carreg Wen Beach.
