Fenella Beach Info | Glenfaba Coast

Fenella Beach is one of the two beaches in Peel separated by the breakwater and harbour. It is a small, sheltered sandy beach within rocky cliffs overlooked by Peel Castle.

Fenella Beach is dog-friendly all year round, unlike the central Peel Beach, which has seasonal restrictions.

Fenella Beach takes its name from the character in Sir Walter Scott’s 1823 novel ‘Peveril of the Peak’ set around Peel Castle. At the entrance to the beach car park, you can see a 7 ft wooden sculpture of Fenella looking out onto the beach.

When we visited, the beach had an abundance of shells.

The beach has a car park, and there is a small cafe near the lifeboat station and castle entrance. The main facilities are in Peel, a short walk over the harbour swing bridge.
