Lullingstone Roman Villa was begun in about AD 100, and developed to suit the tastes and beliefs of successive wealthy owners, reaching its peak of luxury in the mid-4th century. You will get to see mosaics, prints of the rare wall paintings, a heated bath-suite and a ‘house-church’. Today this makes a great Kent all-weather attraction with plenty of kids activities. Eynsford Castle is a very early Norman ‘enclosure castle’ (c.1085-7). Unlike a lot of castles at this time rather than having a keep or motte, Eynsford was protected by an extensive curtain wall.
