Port St Mary’s lifeboat station was established in 1896 and now operates an inshore lifeboat kept within the lifeboat station and an all-weather lifeboat moored in the outer harbour. Station open weekdays, no shop. Read more…
Port Erin lifeboat started in the 1880’s with a 10-oared self-righting boat. The first station was built in 1884 with a slipway added in 1900. The Port Erin Lifeboat Station you see today was built in 1925 with a slipway thought to be one of the steepest launch slopes. The Port Erin lifeboat station now operates a rigid inshore lifeboat.
