Castell Coch Information
Castell Coch (Welsh for Red Castle) is a late nineteenth-century castle built on medieval remains. The castle was designed for the third Marquess of Bute by William Burges. Decorated and furnished in the Victorian Gothic style.
The castle is surrounded by beech woods containing rare plant species and unusual geological features that are protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
Facilities include car parking, toilets, shop and cafe.
