Blast beach was once hidden deep below waste from Dawdon Colliery which was one of the last Durham mines to close. After a clean-up you now have a spectacular stretch of coastline with empty beaches, high cliffs and wild flowers.
This is a great location to head out and explore Durham’s Heritage Coast.
Car parking available at Nose’s Point.
