Hornsea Beach

Hornsea beach is sandy with some shingle and wooden groynes,  part of the continuous stretch of East Riding of Yorkshire sandy coastline.

Popular with families, water sports enthusiasts and walkers.

Facilities at the beach include parking, toilets, promenade, amusements, cafe/restaurant, shops, seasonal lifeguards and on the promenade above the beach there are chalets that are available to hire.

Hornsea Beach has been awarded a regional Seaside Award.

Hornsea Beach has dog restrictions.
Dogs are not allowed during the summer (1 May to 30 September) on a small stretch between Headland View to a line extending east from Sands Lane. The rest of this long beach is accessible all year.

Beach Water Quality

Water samples are taken at regular intervals during the bathing season and at the end of the season the water quality is classified as:
  - Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
  - Good: generally good water quality
  - Sufficient: meets minimum standards
  - Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
