Skipsea Castle (East Riding of Yorkshire)
Skipsea Castle is a Norman motte and bailey castle, dating from before 1086. In 1221 the then castle’s owner, William de Forz, the Count of Aumale, rebelled against Henry III; the castle was captured by royalist forces and the King ordered it to be destroyed.
The castle has no car park so please park carefully on the road.
