Chalkwell Beach is a sandy beach with groynes backed by a grassy area. The beach has a sea water paddling pool.
Chalkwell is part of the long Southend-on-Sea seafront, sitting towards the Western end.
Facilities include: parking, toilets and food.
No dogs are allowed on Southend beaches between 1st May and 30th September.

- Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
- Good: generally good water quality
- Sufficient: meets minimum standards
- Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
