Forest of Dean
The Forest of Dean covers 35 square miles between the rivers Severn and Wye. The forest has thick coniferous and deciduous woods and rolling hills. In Roman times this was a major hunting area and in Tudor times the Oak was used for shipbuilding.
Throughout the Forest you are welcome to explore – to walk and cycle the many miles of signed forest roads.
The forest has lots of picnic spots with tables and sometimes fixes BBQ points.
