Criccieth beach is a south facing beach with a mixture of sand and pebbles, located to the East of the castle and by the town. Facilities include parking, slipway, promenade, cafe and toilets.

Marine Beach also known as West Beach is one of the two Criccieth beaches that sit on either side of the castle. The beach is a long sandy beach that sits to the west of the castle and stretches out of town. Car parking with more facilities can be found within Criccieth.

Black Rock Sands beach is known by many names, although we refer to it as Black Rock Sands it is often referred to as Porthmadog beach or Craig Du or Morfa Bychan beach after the local village. The beach is excellent, a wide sandy beach with a rocky headland and is approximately 2 miles long with a sand dune system

Afon Wen beach is a sandy beach with a high tide pebble bank. Popular for fishing and horse riding. No facilities and limited parking along the sides of the road and then you will need to walk under the bridge and follow the rough track to the beach.

The beach huts on Llanbedrog Beach are available to hire for the year from the National Trust. The season depends on the weather but typically runs from Easter to early September. The huts are very popular, and applications are received well in advance, see the National Trust website.

Criccieth Castle is perched in an imposing position on a headland, the castle is dominated by a twin-towered gatehouse. The castle built by Llywelyn the Great and was taken over by Edward I some 50 years later.
