Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
Good: generally good water quality
Sufficient: meets minimum standards
Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.

Aberdaron beach is a sandy west facing beach at the picturesque village of Aberdaron on the Llyn Peninsula. The beach is large and gently shelving with relatively safe and clean bathing water. Llanbedrog beach and it’s colourful beach huts is a large sandy sheltered beach with views of Cardigan Bay, adjacent to woods. The beach is managed by the National Trust. Trefor beach is alongside a small harbour and is sandy with some pebbles and rocks, situated on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd. You will sometimes see people surfing on the far side of the harbour. Abererch beach is a 4 mile stretch of sand from Pwllheli to Pen-y-Chain headland. Porth Ceiriad is at the tip of the Llyn Peninsula, between Abersoch and Hell’s Mouth. A sheltered steep shelving beach under the cliffs with access via a walk and steep steps.
