West Kirby Beach is a sandy beach with views across to the mouth of the Dee Estuary and also the Hilbre Island, which can be reached on foot from the beach.

The beach at West Kirby allows dogs all year round.

West Kirby Marine Lake is beside the beach and is a popular destination for watersports and recreational activities. The lake is a tidal lake so its size can vary with the changing tides, covering an area of approximately 52 acres (21 hectares) at high tide, making it one of the largest man-made enclosed lakes in the UK.

Facilities include car parking and toilets.
