Stray Beach

Stray Beach is a sandy beach to the south of Redcar and the North of Marske sands. As this beach lacks facilities it tends to be quieter than the more popular nearby beaches of Redcar and Saltburn.

Facilities at the beach include parking, toilets and a cafe but for more, you will need to head into Redcar.

We have no current information on dog restrictions for Stray Beach.

Why not check other beaches nearby as we have 6 beaches at Redcar, 22 beaches in North Yorkshire, or check our list of North Yorkshire Dog Friendly Beaches.

Stray Beach Water Quality

Water samples are taken at regular intervals during the bathing season and at the end of the season the water quality is classified as:
  - Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
  - Good: generally good water quality
  - Sufficient: meets minimum standards
  - Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
