Borth Beach Info | Ceredigion Coast

Borth Beach is sand with a pebble bank at the high tide mark. The beach is 3 miles long, with rock pools intersected by groynes providing good natural windbreaks.

Swimming and surfing is safe on Borth beach but if you move up towards Ynyslas beach and the estuary, it becomes unsafe due to the currents.

Dogs are not allowed on Borth Beach between the 1st of May and the 30th of September, but if you head up to Ynyslas Beach, dogs are allowed all year round.

At low tide you can see, skeletal stumps of oak, birch, willow, hazel and pine trees, remnants of the Forest of Borth, which was buried under peat, sand and saltwater more than 4,500 years ago.

Facilities include parking and lifeguards in the summer.
