Workington Destination Guide

Explore / United Kingdom / Cumbria

Workington is a town on the mouth of the River Derwent on the west coast of Cumbria.

Some parts of the town date back to Roman times but it was in the 18th century, with the exploitation of the local iron ore and coal pits, that Workington expanded to become a major industrial town and port.
