Canvey Island (Essex) Coast and Beaches
Canvey Island is a reclaimed island in the Thames estuary in Essex. Lying just below sea level it has been prone to flooding and today has an extensive sea wall and some flood barriers to protect it.
Canvey has three sailing clubs; The Island Yacht Club, the Chapman Sands Sailing Club and the Benfleet Yacht Club.
