Morecambe sits within Morecambe Bay, the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom. Morecambe Bay stretches from the south west coast of Cumbria to Fleetwood in Lancashire, taking in coastal towns such as Grange Over Sands, Morecambe and Heysham.
