Lamb Holm Destination Guide

Lamb Holm (Orkney Islands) Seaside, Coast and Beaches

Lamb Holm is a small uninhabited island in the Orkney Islands.

Lamb Holm lies in Holm Sound, one of the eastern entrances to Scapa Flow. The Churchill Barriers, four causeways created to block unwanted extra sea accesses to Scapa Flow now carry the road from South Ronaldsay to Mainland, Orkney. Lamb Holm is connected to Glims Holm, to the southwest, by Barrier number 2, and to Mainland by Barrier number 1.

You don’t really have anything on this island other than the Italian Chapel built by Italian prisoners of war when they were in Camp 60 on the island and helping to build the Churchill Barriers.
