Explore Chichester (West Sussex) Coast and Beaches
Chichester is the only city in West Sussex and sits between the South Downs and the English Channel. The city is a hub to many parts of south Sussex and the wider south coast. For the purpose of our listings, we have included the Manhood Peninsula. The Manhood Peninsula is the southernmost part of Sussex and it has the English Channel to its south, Chichester to the north, west by Chichester Harbour and to its east by Pagham Harbour, its southern headland being Selsey Bill. Chichester borders Pagham harbour and Chichester harbour that are two of four natural harbours in this area of the coastline, the others being Portsmouth Harbour and Langstone Harbour. Chichester Harbour is a large natural harbour to the south west of the city and it straddles the boundary of West Sussex and Hampshire. Pagham Harbour is a Site of Special Scientific Interest with its shingle spit and national importance for both flora and fauna.
