Chapel Bay Beach is within a horseshoe bay with a promenade and some grass areas. The beach itself is a large sandy beach with flat rocks and rockpools on either side, although at high tide, you don’t have access to any sand.
Chapel Bay Beach has a seasonal dog ban, which does not allow dogs between 9 am and 6 pm, from the 1st of May to the 30th of September.
Port St Mary is a large village in the southwest of the Isle of Man. At one end of the bay, you have two connected harbours. The inner harbour, with its pier created in 1812, is tidal and dries out from half-tide, whilst the outer harbour, built in 1882, is accessible at all tide levels. There is a lovely walkway that runs from the beach to the harbour, hugging the coast.
Facilities at Chapel Beach include parking in the village or limited spaces at Gansey Point, and the village offers a selection of places to eat.
