Newburgh Beach (Aberdeenshire)

    Newburgh beach is either side of the mouth of the river Ythan and is backed by a large sand dune system.

    The area includes the Forvie nature reserve and is a good location for coastal walks and bird watching, the reserve is a large dune system and so the area is also called Sands of Forvie.

    Car parking near the beach to the south of the river mouth and the north has some nature reserve parking. For facilities you will have to travel back to Newburgh village where there are some shops including a post office.
