Newburgh Beach

Newburgh Beach is on either side of the mouth of the Ythan and is backed by an extensive sand dune system. The beach is dog-friendly all year round.

The area includes the Forvie nature reserve and is a good location for coastal walks and bird watching. The reserve is a large dune system, so the area is also called Sands of Forvie.

Car parking is near the beach south of the river mouth, and the north has some nature reserve parking. For facilities, you will have to travel back to Newburgh village, where there are some shops, including a post office.
