St Cyrus Beach is a sandy beach stretching for 5 km (3 miles) below cliffs and high sand dunes that are also home to theย St Cyrus National Nature Reserve.
Dogs are allowed on St Cyrus Beach but must be kept under close control at all times within the reserve.
Traditional salmon fishing with nets is still conducted from St Cyrus Beach, and you may get a chance to see dolphins, seals, whales and porpoises from the beach.
The beach is split from Montrose Beach by the River North Esk as it joins the North Sea.
You have two choices of an access point for the beach. The first is via Beach Road from St Cyrus, or you can head to the St Cyrus Nature Reserve visitor centre (closest past code DD10 0AQ).
