This is the beach right off the Esplanade by the Grand Pavilion – central, scenic, full of atmosphere. Town Beach is more about soaking in seaside charm with cafes, promenade views, shops, marine life in rock pools, and the occasional visitors exploring rather than bathing.
Swimming is prohibited here due to tides and sharp rocks, though if you’re there at low tide, you’ll find some lovely rock pools to peer into and explore. At the eastern end of the beach, you have Porthcawl Marina.
No dogs are allowed on the beach between the 1st of May and the end of September.
This is the centre of Porthcawl, and you have many cafes, bars and shops nearby.
