Widemouth Sands is a large sandy beach that is ideal for families and offers a variety of activities including swimming, traditional beach games, surfing and rock pools.
Facilities include lifeguards in the summer, cafes, pub/shop on the cliff, and parking.
Widemouth Sands Beach is a Blue Flag Beach and has been awarded a regional Seaside Award.
Widemouth Sands does not allow dogs between Easter and October, although, Black Rock beach at the south end of the bay does allow dogs.
Water samples are taken at regular intervals during the bathing season and at the end of the season the water quality is classified as:
Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
Good: generally good water quality
Sufficient: meets minimum standards
Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.

Duckpool is one of the most attractive and dramatic coves in the Bude area. At higher tide the beach is made up of pebbles, but at mid/ low tide sand and rocks are revealed.
