Trevone Bay is a large gentle shelving sandy beach protected by cliffs on either side, the bay also has a number of alcoves that can provide some natural protection from any wind.
You need to be careful of the surf as it can be rough and we would suggest only entering into the water whilst the lifeguards are present or go and ask for advice from the beach surf shop as they understand this bay and always seem willing to help.
To one side in front of the houses, you have a grass area and on the other, the coast path takes you to the cliffs above the beach where you have an interesting blowhole eighty feet deep formed by a collapsed sea cave known locally as ‘Round Hole‘.
When visiting Trevone Bay we would also strongly suggest popping by Rocky beach next door as it is such a contrast to the sand of Trevone, with large rock slabs, rock pools and even a sea-water swimming pool.
Facilities at the beach include plenty of car parking spaces, toilets, beach cafe and shop and lifeguards in the summer. You also have a small farm shop and pub about halfway down the steep road to the beach.
Trevone Bay Beach has been awarded a regional Seaside Award.
Dog Friendly Beach?
Trevone Bay beach has seasonal dog restrictions not allowing dogs from 15th May to 30th September between 10 am - 6 pm
Water samples are taken at regular intervals during the bathing season and at the end of the season the water quality is classified as: - Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest - Good: generally good water quality - Sufficient: meets minimum standards - Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
