Hartlepool North Sands is a sandy beach. As you head Northwards away from Hartlepool you have the Durham Coast and Castle Eden Dene National Nature Reserves which is known for spotting seals and seabirds. In the middle of the beach you have a long working pier that carries pipelines. Car parking is by the marina.

Blackhall Rocks beach is made up of sand, pebbles and rocks. Blackhall Rocks is part of the Durham Wildlife Trust reserve from where access to the beach and cliffs can be gained. As well as the beach and nature this is also a very popular climbing location. Car park and a steep path to the beach.

Hartlepool Bay beach runs south from the Marina to Seaton Carew, with a promenade and some grass areas behind the beach. Facilities include parking, promenade, shops, cafe and restaurants at the top end by the marina.

Hartlepool lifeboat station operates two lifeboats. Hartlepool has had a number of lifeboat stations over the years and this now is the only one. No shop but station is open to visitors.

Seaham Lighthouse was erected in 1905 when the nearby Red Acre Point lighthouse was decommissioned. The lighthouse is a black-and-white striped pier-head light with a tower height of 10m and a range of 5 miles.
