Durham Cathedral

Durham Cathedral or by its full name The Cathedral Church of Christ, Blessed Mary the Virgin and St Cuthbert of Durham is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The present Norman era cathedral had started to be built in 1093, replacing the city’s previous ‘White Church’, with the cathedral walls formed part of Durham Castle.
