Hove Museum and Art Gallery
Hove Museum and Art Gallery features a toy gallery that includes a significant collection of dolls, teddy bears, mechanical toys, toy trains, dollhouses, rocking horses and tricycles. Another focus is contemporary crafts and fine art. The museum also includes local history displays, and a collection of early cinema artifacts from the 1890s and 1900s.
Originally known as Brooker Hall, constructed in 1877 by the architect Thomas Lainson for Major John Vallance. The building is in the Italianate style made popular by Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s residence on the Isle of Wight. It stands in grounds now laid out as a public park.

The Rye Jazz and Blues Festival is taking place from Friday 24th to Monday 28th of August and encompasses the bank holiday weekend. Music includes a mix of jazz, blues, RnB, Soul, Folk, Roots, Latin, Cuban and contemporary music performances at various venues in Rye. Saltdean beach is shingle between rock groynes backed by high chalk cliffs and at low tide, you have rock pools to explore. Located approximately 5 miles to the East of Brighton. Due to the coastal erosion on this part of the coast you have a lot of concrete defences visible, so this is not a beach to get back to nature

West Quay beach is a sand and shingle beach tucked behind the western breakwater. Newhaven Fort is located on top of the cliffs with tunnels that lead down to the beach. Facilities include parking, cafe, slipway.

Newhaven Harbour beach is a small sandy beach within the harbour breakwaters that is exposed at low tide. The beach shares parking, cafe and slipway with the West Quay beach the other side of the breakwater. We have no dog information for Newhaven Harbour beach.

Victoria Chalets are located at Marina on St Leonards beach. These ten seasonal wooden chalets are available for weekly hire from March – September. Hire starts at 14:00 on the commencing Saturday and terminates at 11:30 noon on the vacating Saturday. Beach huts should only be used during the hours of daylight and should never be used for overnight accommodation.

The Booth Museum of natural history houses over half a million insects, skeletons and birds and the infamous merman which is a fake from the Victorian era but was highly regarded back then!
