Newhaven Fort was built on the recommendation of the 1859 Royal Commission to defend the growing south coast harbour at Newhaven. It was the largest defence work ever built in Sussex and is now open as a museum. Read more…
Newhaven Harbour beach is a small sandy beach within the harbour breakwaters that is exposed at low tide. The beach shares parking, cafe and slipway with the West Quay beach the other side of the breakwater. We have no dog information for Newhaven Harbour beach. Read more…
Newhaven had its first lifeboat in 1803 and today operates an offshore ifeboat. Lifeboat station open by apointment and the shop is open all but Mondays. Read more…
