Chelmsford Cathedral
Chelmsford Cathedral is dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, St Peter and St Cedd. The church of St Mary the Virgin in Chelmsford was probably first built along with the town eight hundred years ago but it was in 1914 the church became the cathedral for the newly created diocese of Chelmsford.

Facilities include car parking, a wheelchair-accessible path to the beach, cafe, children’s play area, grass areas and to one side of the beach you have a caravan park.

Chalkwell Beach is a sandy beach with groynes backed by a grassy area and the beach has a seawater paddling pool. Chalkwell is part of the long Southend-on-Sea seafront, sitting towards the Western end and is less busy than the stretches near the pier.
