Pettycur Bay Beach
Pettycur Bay beach is a sheltered small sandy bay backed by sand dunes.
At low tide Pettycur Bay becomes a massive expanse of sand and mud flats nearly one mile wide. The beach goes out to Black Rocks and joins up in the west to Burntisland beach.
Pettycur Bay Beach has been awarded a regional Seaside Award.

Burntisland beach is a sandy beach with rock pools. An excellent family beach and at low tide you get a massive area nearly one mile wide of sand and mud flats which go all the way out to the Black Rocks and all the way east to Pettycur beach. Take care of the mud flats when walking out at low

Seafield beach is a sandy beach with rock pools and some grass areas in a quiet area to the south of Kirkcaldy. The beach looks out into the Firth of Forth and if you are lucky you will see some seals on the rocks. Facilities at the beach include car parking but you can also walk from Kirkcaldy.

Kinghorn lifeboat station was established in 1965 and has an inshore lifeboat. The lifeboat station is open on a Sunday morning and other times by appointment.

Ravenscraig Castle is built on a rock promontory in the Firth of Forth at Kirkcaldy at the east end of Pathhead Sands. This ruined castle dates back to the 1460’s and had natural steep cliffs on the three sea sides and then the main castle defences, two big D-shaped towers, built on the landward side.
