The Portsmouth D-Day Museum tells the story of Operation Overlord during the Normandy D-Day landings. The story is told through the lives and memories of the people who were there through imagery, audio-visual presentations, authentic vehicles and hands-on interactive displays. The museum splits the story into four parts:
- Landing Craft Tank LCT 7074
- Preparation
- D-Day and the Battle of Normandy
- Legacy and the Overlord Embroidery
You can stop off at the cafรฉ for freshly ground coffee, speciality teas, milkshakes and a wide range of homemade food. A large terrace during the summer months has great views across to neighbouring Southsea Castle.
