New Brighton Beach Info | Merseyside Coast

New Brighton is a traditional seaside resort at the northeastern corner and most northerly point of the Wirral Peninsula, at the western side of the mouth of the River Mersey, with the Irish Sea to the north.

New Brighton Beach is a large sandy beach with views over the Liverpool skyline and along the coast to Sefton. The beach is a popular destination for families and day-trippers, although the sand further out turns into mud at low tide, so care should be taken, and it is advised to keep between the RNLI flags.

New Brighton Beach is dog-friendly all year round.

Adjacent to the beach is New Brighton Marine Lake, which is popular for water activities such as paddleboarding, wakeboarding and pedalos.

The beach’s facilities include parking nearby, toilets, a pub, a two-mile promenade, seasonal lifeguards and a leisure complex. If staying in Liverpool, one of the best ways to get to New Brighton is using the Merseyrail from Liverpool Lime Street station, which takes about 25 minutes.
