Saltburn Pier located in Saltburn-by-the-Sea is the last pier remaining in Yorkshire. The Staithes and Runswick lifeboat station has had a open-closed history. Established in 1875. Closed in 1922 due to difficulty in launching the lifeboat and in finding a crew.
