The dune system a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is in front of the golf course and is a haven for wildlife and plants. Stray Beach is a sandy beach to the south of Redcar and the North of Marske sands. As this beach lacks facilities it tends to be quieter than the more popular nearby beaches of Redcar and Saltburn.
