St Davidโs Cathedral is in St Davidโs in Pembrokeshire in the south-western corner of Wales. The cathedral, named after Walesโ patron saint, is one of the countryโs best-loved attractions.
The cruciform-shaped cathedral dates back to 1181 but there has been a church on the site ever since the 6th century. Inside, visitors can marvel at the beautiful oak and painted ceilings, the extraordinary sloping floors and the restored cloisters, all of which contribute to its special character.
The cathedral and its grounds dominate the tiny city of St Davidโs, and this and the magnificent remains of the neighbouring Bishops Palace are well worth a visit.
Open throughout the year.
