St Andrew Church in Covehithe is tucked away in the tiny village of Covehithe, is part ruin, part working church, and completely unique.
You have had a church here since the 14th century, although most of it dates to the 15th century. The large church was too expensive for the parishioners to maintain, and they were given permission in 1672 to remove the roof and build a much smaller church within it.
This small thatched church attached to the original tower is still in use.
If you are planning a visit to Covehithe Beach, then you should have a quick look before heading down the footpath to the beach. The same roadside parking can be used for the church and the beach.
