Gairloch beach is a beautiful secluded sandy beach backed by sand dunes just to the south of the village. Facilities at the beach are by the golf course, including parking, toilets and a cafe. You also have some more shops and harbour at Gairloch.

Red Point by Gairloch has two sandy remote beaches backed by dunes with great views out to the islands on a fine day. The North beach (marked on our map) is the larger and wider of the two beaches that are often referred to as Red Point North and Red Point South beaches. Access is by a single track road.

Big Sand beach by Gairloch is a sheltered sandy beach with views over to Longa Island. The beach is backed by extensive sand dunes, which can also provide shelter from the wind. Facilities can be found in the campsite that sits in the dunes behind the beach.

Gruinard Bay has a selection of excellent sandy beaches in a rural setting. Car parking but no facilities, closest is the Laide village store/post office.

Bealach na Ba is a pass through the mountains on the Scottish Highlands’ Applecross peninsula. It is a twisting, single-track mountain road, and is the third highest road in the United Kingdom. The road famously rises from sea level to 626 metres at Bealach na Ba or ‘cattle pass’, with steep gradients and hairpin turns much like in the Alps.
