Loch Ness

Loch Ness is a freshwater loch or lake in the Scottish Highlands. Known for being very deep, the loch extends for nearly 23 miles southwest of Inverness. It is also the home of the legend of the Loch Ness Monster, or ‘Nessie’

Loch Ness is the second largest loch in Scotland in distance, but by volume (due to its depth) it holds the top spot.

The Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition at Drumnadrochit shows visitors the amazing history and geology that has gone into the making of Loch Ness, as well as all you would want to know about Nessie! Recently rated a 5-star attraction by the Scottish Tourist Board, at the centre you can also receive more information on what to do in and around the loch, from boat trips to accommodation advice.
