Roker Beach

Roker Beach is a popular coastal destination known for its wide, clean, sandy shore. This picturesque beach and the adjacent Seaburn Beach form part of Sunderland’s seafront.

One of Roker Beach’s most iconic features, the pier and lighthouse, extends into the North Sea. The pier is a great place for a scenic walk, and the lighthouse often opens for tours, allowing visitors to learn about its history and enjoy panoramic views.

Dogs are prohibited on Roker Beach between the 1st of May and the 30th of September.

Close to the beach is Roker Park, a traditional Victorian park with beautiful gardens, a play area for children, and a model railway. It’s a perfect alternative to the beach, a spot for picnics and leisurely strolls.

Facilities at the beach include parking, toilets, a selection of beachfront cafes/restaurants, seasonal lifeguards, and accessible pathways.
