Porthkerry Country Park
Porthkerry Country Park is located on the western side of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The park consists of 220 acres of extensive woodland and meadowland in a sheltered valley and is rich in wildlife.
Here you can find way-marked nature trails, picnic sites, a barbecue area and a 12-hole golf course. The Park is open all year round and has 2 car parks (charge applies in summer).
Horse riding is available for permit holders along the main roads within the park and a designated route around the meadow.

The Knap beach is a wide steeply sloping pebble beach popular with surfers. At low tide you do get some sand. As you head along the coast the beach is backed by cliffs and there are good coastal walks near by. Parking is behind the beach and toilets available.

Watch House Bay beach is a quiet sandy beach looking over to the old harbour on Barry Island. Watch House Bay is on the other side of Cold Knap Point and the busier larger Knap beach. When the tide is out you have a massive expanse of sand in front of you and can make it over to Little Island.
