5 Great Things To Do In Suffolk This Summer

The sun is out, and if you ever wanted a beautiful day out, Suffolk, on the east coast of England, is the place to be with a plethora of activities, sights and beaches to entertain you.

If you feel the need for sand and ocean, head to a Lowestoft in Suffolk which boasts Claremont North and South beaches. Both have been rated Blue Flag status and for good reason. They each have white, sandy beaches and great facilities, a car park, summer lifeguards, shops, food and toilets. The perfect way to get some summer sun and feel the sand between your toes.

There are many other glorious beaches to choose from. If you want a more pebbled feel under your feet head to Pakefiled Beach where you can hunt for fossils whilst being surrounded by cliffs and ocean. If you are feeling sporty and adventurous you may want to kiteboard. This exhilarating sport has its own zone which starts at the last wooden groyne at Lowestoft and goes onto Kessingland beach. This is the beach to go to if you are looking for a little bit of rural, a little ‘off the beaten track.’

Gunton Denes Beach is wonderful for bird watching and is also home to white sandy beaches, perfect for a secluded stroll or a feeling of just getting back to nature.

If you are looking to keep the kids entertained you may want to consider Easton Farm Park. This farm has won awards and is set in 35 acres of beautiful Suffolk scenery. Their daily programs include pony riding, train rides and an opportunity to pet some of the animals. If you fancy wilder animals and a more African experience, Africa Alive takes you to the heart of the bushveld. Rhinos, Giraffes and Zebras roam freely and lion spotting from the lookout lodge gives this part a totally authentic feel. Tamer farmyard animals allow your children to get up close and experience more of a farm feeling.
