Explore Devon Beaches and Coastline

Devon is one of the most popular holidays and beach areas of the United Kingdom. It has many beaches and coves split over two contrasting coastlines.

Devon is a holidaymaker delight with beautiful beaches, dramatic and romantic scenery, countryside galore, quaint villages, historic buildings, bustling seaside towns, adventure activities, extreme sports and superb culinary delights. The trouble is; where to start!

There are areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Dartmoor so if you are into the rugged outdoors Dartmoor is for you. Think 'Hounds of the Baskervilles' and 368 sq miles of being alone! The trails for mountain biking and walks are fantastic with pubs dotted along the way to help you stay refreshed.

In the Heart of Devon you'll find cities like Plymouth and Exeter. Plymouth is full of history and great to explore on a day out with the family or if you're just seeking a little more fun after a day at the beach. Exeter dates back to Roman times and is a perfect spot to while away a few shopping hours somewhere quirky and different to the usual mall.

The coastline near Torquay is often called 'The English Riviera' as it's all about the coast and its maritime history. Visit the Geopark, canoe the coves, fish and walk and don't forget to unwind on the beaches.

South Devon is packed with gently sloping hills, sleepy seaside towns and beautiful beaches while North Devon offers stately homes set in acres of gardens and a wilder ocean offering great surf. Exmoor is here offering mountain biking and more dramatic sports adventures for the wild at heart. Go coasteering and get up close to the more rugged areas of Devon!
