Plymouth Destination Guide

Explore Plymouth (Devon) Coast and Beaches

Plymouth is a city on the south coast of Devon with Plymouth Sound forming the boundary with Cornwall. Plymouth is a commercial shipping port and shipbuilding and dockyard town. Plymouth itself only has two small rocky beaches either side of Plymouth’s Tinside Lido, but the coastline to either side of Plymouth into Devon and Cornwall has a selection of great beaches and hidden coves worth exploring. Plymouth is a large city with a long maritime past and so you have many historical sites to visit including those around the Mayflower story of 1620.
