South Ronaldsay is the fourth largest of the Orkney Islands and it is linked to the Orkney Mainland by manmade causeways - the Churchill Barriers. The island is the nearest to Mainland Scotland is just over 10km from John O'Groats.

The island offers various habitats such as heathland, beaches, lochs, cliffs and rocks providing safe nesting for a wide selection of birds. Whilst exploring the coastline you stand a very good chance of seeing Common and Grey Seals.
